About the Project

The Albert Einstein Digital Collection at Vassar College Libraries was made possible by a generous grant from Dr. Georgette Bennett in honor of Dr. Leonard Polonsky CBE. Planning and implementation of the project was provided by the Library Director (Sabrina Pape), the Digital Initiatives team (Shay Foley, Joanna DiPasquale, and Sharyn Cadogan) and the Archives & Special Collections Library (Ron Patkus and Dean Rogers). Access is provided through Islandora software and uses the Fedora repository system, with configuration and assistance by DiscoveryGarden. Dr. Diana Kormos-Buchwald and her colleagues at the California Institute of Technology provided expert translation and transcription services, allowing for full-text searching of the documents in both German and English. We are grateful to Princeton University Press, in cooperation with the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and the California Institute of Technology, for granting permission to digitize and display these materials.
